Bharatpur, a city in the state of Rajasthan, is most famous for the Keoladeo National Park ( A UNESCO's World Heritage Site) which is a bird sanctuary and the Lohagarh Fort, due to which it gets a lot of international tourists. The fort is also home to the Government Museum. Some well-known temples in and around Bharatpur are the Ganga Mandir and the Laxman Mandir. The main source of income for the people of Bharatpur is agriculture and farming. Stone quarrying is also a key source of livelihood for the local population.Founded by Maharaja Suraj Mal in 1733, Bharatpur was once the capital of Jat Kingdom ruled by Sinsinwar Maharajas. 


Legend says that this land of Jats has its own significance and tells heroic tales of braveries against the attacks by Mughals and the British. The region is quite famous for its forts and palaces, which exhibit a seamless blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The region is quite famous for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, which hosts a wide variety of avian population.
