Ajmer is a must-visit city in Rajasthan. It is famous for the Muslim shrine called Ajmer Sharif Dargah. The city has a strong influence of the Mughals due to historical reasons and that reflects in its architecture as well.
Originally it was set up by a Chauhan ruler. It is also located close to Pushkar which is a big pilgrimage spot for Hindus, and is located within the Aravalli hills range. Apart from that embroidery and handcrafted ornaments are also popular items that are sold in Ajmer.
